About this forum
(Preview)
I'm going to try get things a little more organized and move information into this thread that applies to all 16 bit Denso ECUs and using the BDM port. This way the individual bike forums can stay focused on whats unique to each bike. The ZX-12 was the first of the 16bits to be hacked so a lot of information...

CPU16 Serial BDM interface
(Preview)
Not sure if there's much interest out there, but for anybody who's been frustrated with the CPU16 PD parallel port BDM interface, or simply doesn't want to spend $500 for a P&E USB BDM, there is an alternative... A serial BDM interface. This particular interface uses a 14pin PIC 16f1825 MCU to int...

Hi there, I have created an app for use under WinXP with the PD BDM hardware. With my program you can read/write/erase the 16bit 68hc916 MCU. Currently i support only the 916R1 MCU because this is what my bike has. I own a TL1000R. You will need my program and the PD BDM cable which you can build from http:/...

ELM327 WiFi module as a K-line interface...
(Preview)
Hi folks, Been working a cheap v1.5 knock-off this past week, and the unit can easily be reprogrammed to serve as a Wifi interface to the ECU K-line. With some minor tweaks to the ECU code, all the data sent to the cluster could also be routed to the K-line (and Wifi) for logging or diagnostic purpose...

A better way to access the BDM port
(Preview)
I think I may have stumbled on a better way to modify the ECUs to access the BDM port. Despite all the wonderful things you can do with a fully programmable ECU it seems the majority of people I talk with just want the RPM limiter modified and never plan to reprogram it themselves afterward. They want it re...

Combining the 3 flash segments into a single .bin file

The 68hc916 has three 32k flash memory banks. They are downloaded by Bank address not by program address. The CPU has a 4M address space and the flash can be mapped to any 32k segment of that space. In all the 16 bit Denso units seen so far the banks are assigned as follows Edit: Does not apply to TLR, see bel...
