Just set another land speed record with ECU Editor

Just wanted to say thanks to Justin, Petrik and everyone else that has contributed to the building of ECU Editor.

I built a 08 Busa for a customer using ECU Editor for tuning and nitrous control and Justin's new log box for all the data and he went out this morning and went 214, he already had  set the record of 211 at the previous event but he had some issues with the bike so we got those sorted out and still trying to dial the bike in. We are shooting for 220 by the end of the year. Bike is stock bore, stock stroke with nitrous.

I do have a few suggestions for possible changes on the log box. I think the display of vehicle speed and injector duty cycle would be a great asset to anyone using the boxes in a racing enviroment. We are slowly bringing up the nitrous % each run just to make sure we do not exceed the injectors capability.

Also what do the values under "fuel" represent in the excel spread sheet? is it injector pulse width? is so what would be the max value in these cells?

Congrats Justin.

Speed is not input to the ECU, the speed sensor is a separate circuit. feeding only to the gauges.

The number shown in fuel is a value the ecu uses to determine fueling.

I agree that that actual final calculated fuel values would be beneficial.
Best thing to do will be to log duty cycle on a dyno at a few steady state conditions and look at the logs to see if three is a direct comparison to the values shown. The issue will be the potential different duty cycles for the upper and lower sets of injectors if the stock setup with 2 sets of injectors is used.

I currently have duty cycle being logged on my data logger, I will see if I can make a correlation between the values in ECU editor and measured duty cycle.

John

Congratulations
yes a wider choice of displayed items will be a help in future , hopefully Justin can include more in V3
i have injector numbers well into the 5000's in the spreadsheet if thats any help , i will get an exact figure , you have 50/50 injector balance up top ?? thats usually good to ~370hp on std injectors with turbo

Yea really looking forward to V3.
Injectors are 50/50 and bike has the walbro intank pump. Not sure what the valued are on a full run but he is suppose to email me the logs once he gets back home. The bike should make around 290 or so on the nitrous, it should have plenty of fuel but wanting to make sure since the fuel added in the nitrous controller is up to 60% using 75% nitrous.

After tweaking the a/f, shift points and nitrous ramps he made another pass this morning and was able to run 218.7
